Carolyn Moore-Robin

President

Since 2006 when she established CMR Consulting Inc., Carolyn has continued to demonstrate strong strategic, analytical and professional competency. She is a team leader who is energized through taking a collaborative approach. A creative and innovative problem solver, she is dedicated to providing value to her clients and delivering tangible results. Carolyn has successfully counselled clients across various sectors in the areas of strategic planning, corporate governance, communications, issues management, stakeholder engagement, and Indigenous community planning, consultation and inclusion.

Drawing on more than 35 years of national and international experience in extractive industries including oil, gas and mining, her client base continues to grow to include a broad range of industries, governments, private sector and not-for-profit organizations. Carolyn is passionate about everything she does and is motivated and driven in all areas of her life.

When she is not working, Carolyn is “living her best life” through volunteering, spending time with family, having fun in the outdoors, and enjoying good food and wine.

Carolyn holds a Public Relations and Communications Management Graduate Certificate from Royal Roads University, Geology Certificate from SAIT, and an Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy Certificate from MIT Sloan. She has extensive training in Stakeholder Engagement, Crisis Communication, Corporate Social Responsibility, Media, Leadership and Facilitation. She is an active member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and International Association for Public Participation.

Sarah Skett

Vice President

Sarah is a sustainability and community development specialist with almost 20 years of experience in research and project design, socioeconomic assessment and reporting, and community consultation and engagement in more than 15 developed and developing countries. She is driven by her passion to collaborate with organizations, local leaders, and their communities to build meaningful and lasting partnerships that allow a deeper understanding to address their needs and build strategies that foster mutually beneficial impacts, capacity building, and sustainable growth. Sarah has experience working with vulnerable, at-risk, and culturally diverse groups, Indigenous and rural communities, the private sector, governments, NGOs, academia, and international financial institutions in multi-stakeholder projects, some carried out in multiple countries. She has expertise in delivering innovative solutions at the local, regional, and national level that foster strong relationships and encompass a participative approach that strive for sustainable and healthy communities.

Sarah received her Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Calgary in 2014. She joined the University of Calgary's Sustainability Studies program as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in 2016 and became the first Assistant Professor in the program until she joined CMR full-time in 2021. When not working, Sarah loves exploring the world and all its communities, cooking, time with family and friends (including her tiny puppy Violet), Super Jocks, and NFL Sundays. She was previously the Chair, and currently a Board Director, of The Fig Tree Foundation, a Calgary-based non-profit dedicated to building capacity for communities around the world to catalyze sustainable development and strong resilient communities.

Stephany Codd

Communications & Social Media

Stephany joins the CMR team with experience in communications, stakeholder relations, and partnership engagement. She has worked across multiple sectors with various stakeholders and beneficiaries and thrives on building relationships and creating inclusive spaces.

Recognized as a Top 30 Under 30 in Alberta’s International Development sector for her work in the not-for-profit sector, Stephany brings a diversified skill set in internal and external communications, international project coordination, event and campaign planning, and fundraising. In her role with CMR, she is excited working with diversified groups of clients, expanding her knowledge in Indigenous Inclusion, Sustainability and ESG reporting, and inspiring change.

Stephany holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development with an emphasis in agriculture and rural development from the University of Guelph. She is certified in Permaculture Design and is passionate about food security and renewable land systems. Most of her spare time is spent wining and dining with family and friends, watching the Food Channel, thrifting for her next great find, or planning her next adventure.

Ange-Aimée Quesnel

Sustainability & Community Engagement

Ange-Aimée joins CMR Consulting with a robust background in the consulting space, particularly in British Columbia, where she has collaborated with Indigenous communities across BC, Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Ontario. Her work encompasses a diverse portfolio of community-led projects, including ESG reporting, community engagement, research projects, and Indigenous relations and partnerships. Known for her passion for interdisciplinary approaches and meaningful cross-sectional collaboration, Ange-Aimée is dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders. Committed to a collaborative process, she works alongside her clients to develop tailored solutions.

Ange-Aimée is a continuous learner, holding an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of British Columbia (2021). She consistently pursues further education to stay updated on leading industry practices. She is GRI Certified and received her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in early 2024. Her extensive training includes gender-based assessments, cultural awareness training and facilitation, strategic planning, trauma-informed program delivery, and sustainability in the resource extraction industries.

Outside the office, Ange-Aimée thrives on community involvement. Whether participating in industry networking organizations, run club, book club, or wine club, she loves being surrounded by others, especially those she cares about.

Kathryn Ward

Communications

Kathryn Ward has more than 30 years of cross-sector experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, and corporate communications. She has worked with clients across all sectors, and has extensive experience in energy resources.

Kathryn’s work has been acknowledged with long-term, trust-based client relationships, and with local, national, and international awards for community relations and communications and marketing programs, including an international ‘best in show’ recognition for international, multi-disciplinary and Indigenous recruitment marketing.

A specialist in clarifying complex content and developing initiatives that spark action, Kathryn is a storyteller with a passion for writing. She is also known for the ability to see big picture solutions and connect the dots, and extrapolate that view into crisp and effective tactics.

Kathryn is mother to one outspoken daughter and is active volunteering with arts and community organizations. Her hobbies include dance, painting, cooking, and time with equally outspoken friends.

Jenna Shummoogum

Director of Communications

Jenna is a marketing and communications strategist with almost 15 years of experience in non profit and public serving organizations. She has extensive skills in public relations, media relations, strategic communications, and marketing. She has focused her career on sparking human curiosity through storytelling.

She is recognized for building collaborative relationships in community, with media and various stakeholders. She has an extensive skill set in event management, project management and is known for building robust communications campaigns to reach business goals.

Jenna is deeply committed to amplifying marginalized voices in her work. Throughout her career, she has helped highlight the stories of immigrant women, artists, and people living on lower incomes. With her strong background in communications, she is particularly focused on driving policy change that fights discrimination against underrepresented groups.

Jenna holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business in Marketing and uses her writing skills in her spare time to be a theatre and dance critic. Her work has been published in the Calgary Herald, LiveWire Calgary, and The Dance Current. She is a member of the Canadian Theatre Critics Association.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, discovering local restaurants, playing soccer, occasionally bowling on a league, and sometimes resting.

Debi Noseworthy

Indigenous Business Solutions

Debi brings over 35 years of expertise in Supply Chain Management and a deep commitment to advancing Indigenous business growth. Debi has spearheaded Indigenous business development initiatives, collaborating with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous companies to drive business expansion and create value beyond monetary transactions. During her tenure leading Indigenous business development teams, she successfully implemented enterprise-wide strategies resulting in spend growth of ~800%. Backing the obligation of corporate Canada to meet the demands of Call to Action #92, is an area that Debi has deep knowledge in and can support companies to fulfill as an imperative of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Debi is passionate about working with Indigenous companies to strategize and enhance their business growth, while also advising non-Indigenous companies on effective engagement practices. Her contributions extend beyond business, including participation in national panel discussions and contribution to various reports on sustainability and reconciliation efforts.

Debi holds professional certifications in logistics and freight forwarding and has been involved in industry associations such as the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association, Calgary Women in Energy, and co-founder of Women in Logistics.

Laura Weibel

Laura Weibel

Indigenous Knowledge Holder

Laura Weibel is a Cree First Nation, native to the Treaty 8 region in Northern Alberta. Drawing on her experiences as a native woman, her studies at the University of Alberta in Native Studies and over ten years working with Indigenous communities, Laura has dedicated her time to sharing her knowledge with social workers, City of Calgary Police Services, and First Nations health centers, to name a few. She currently manages the Youth Program at The Riel Institute for Education & Learning, a program dedicated to educating and providing work experience training for Indigenous youth. Laura teaches everything from Indigenous studies and Canadian history to addictions, employability, and cultural awareness training.

Laura, a grandmother of nine, is very active and enjoys being outdoors, hiking, skiing, and gardening. She is also an artist who spends her time beading, making moccasins, and various pieces of her Indigenous art.

Dana Pittman

Communications

Dana brings a diverse skill set to the CMR team, encompassing internal and external communications, learning and development, change management, and project management. Throughout her career, she has developed a passion for driving employee and stakeholder engagement and cultivating effective relationships.

She provides comprehensive communications support and crafts compelling narratives that resonate with varied audiences. Dana has experience working with a diverse group of clients across sectors focusing on public and private companies, Indigenous, sustainability, and ESG reporting.

Dana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in French and a minor in English from Mount Saint Vincent University, as well as a Public Relations certificate from Simon Fraser University. Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and reading. Dana is also an active volunteer with the Calgary chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Heather Gallant

Environment & Energy

Heather Gallant has over 14 years of experience in the environmental and energy industries. With extensive experience with environmental site assessments, facility and pipeline applications, and environmental monitoring programs she is an excellent complement to the CMR team.

She has worked on large facilities as the lead site environmental specialist and specializes in Greenhouse gas quantification and analysis, including compliance obligation and credit generation modeling. Heather prides herself in pragmatic and cost-effective solutions grounded in practical experience.

Heather is a member of the Canadian Environmental Domestic Advisory Group (CEDAG), with ten selected experts across Canada who advise the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada on environmental matters as they pertain to international trade.

Tori Grant

Sustainability & Community Engagement

Born and raised on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary, Tori brings a wealth of sustainability reporting and engagement expertise to CMR Consulting after spending years working in the public sector. An alumnus of the University of Calgary, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, majoring in Biology and is currently finishing a Master of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University.

The culmination of her work and educational background lends Tori skills and experience, allowing her to benefit and meet client needs in the areas of sustainability and the environment, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, strategy development and communications. She is passionate about finding ways for people to connect and work together meaningfully and with respect.

When Tori isn’t working, she is very active and loves to spend time biking, running, hiking, skiing, reading an entire book much too quickly, or watching any of the Marvel movies repeatably.

Philippe Reicher

Reputation Management

Philippe is a seasoned public affairs professional with 30 years of experience in the field of strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, crisis communications, media relations, and government relations.  He has led public engagement and communications programs and campaigns in complex regulatory and stakeholder environments in the energy, post-secondary and not for profit sectors. His work has taken him across Canada and the US with a focus on Western Canada.

Philippe believes that transparency and authenticity are fundamental principles to meaningful stakeholder engagement.

While holding senior leadership roles, Philippe has been a strategic advisor to senior executives to help manage complex internal and external reputation and branding issues resulting from corporate rebranding, mergers and acquisitions, facilities’ failures, and personnel matters.

Philippe believes that one of the best ways to manage reputation and brand challenges is to create cultural alignment between executive leadership and staff and to integrate communications, marketing, and stakeholder engagement functions. This approach allows for more consistent and effective organizational messaging, practices and procedures when managing internal and external business risks.

Philippe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Anthropology and Master of Environmental Design in Regional Planning from the University of Calgary. Philippe is currently the vice-chair of the Fig Tree Foundation, an organization promoting collaborative sustainable international development initiatives. Outside work, Philippe likes travelling, running, hiking and snowshoeing in the mountains, playing his guitar, and getting together with friends to try new recipes.

Alexis George

Social Media

Alexis thrives on finding new ways to attract, engage, and inform audiences through social media platforms, in a world that is technologically changing every day.

With a background in media and sales, Alexis started her career with a group of small community newspapers in her home province, Manitoba, before moving to Calgary to join the Calgary Sun as an account executive. She was responsible for over one million dollars in annual advertising revenue and won multiple sales awards, working primarily with the automotive industry. After raising her family, Alexis re-entered the marketing world, providing social media consulting services to a variety of businesses.

Alexis graduated from Lethbridge Community College with a diploma in Communication Arts, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. In her free time, Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, travelling, and horseback riding.

Spencer Moore

Technology & Media Solutions

Since shifting to contracting in 2015, Spencer has established his reputation for providing an vast array of high quality technology-related products. His achievements include developing custom websites for dozens of companies, designing a wide variety of branding material and documents, constructing a mobile-accessible intranet for a large multi-site company, facilitating successful email marketing campaigns, producing videos for both education and promotional purposes and providing technical support for established businesses.

Spencer maintains a strong focus on collaborating with clients on each project to produce results that best fit the purpose, flow of information and project deadlines. He is constantly learning about new innovative products and software to ensure our clients are provided with the best support available and opportunities for adapting new technology.

Barry Morrissette

Video Director, Producer, Photographer, Technologist

Barry’s diverse projects range from developing the Indigenous Awareness E-learning platform for ConocoPhillips Canada to Travel Alberta’s Online Travel Agent Portal to E-Zone Networks, North America’s first large-scale interactive television system. Barry has worked and consulted with Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, and Walt Disney Studios on many projects including film, special effects, commercials, documentaries, and interactive applications.

He is engaged in developing Indigenous Digital Sovereignty Platforms (IDSP) with a goal of providing new solutions for internet and STEM learning in remote First Nation communities and to grow opportunities for Indigenous youth. He has received several awards and accolades over the years and works with non-profits, finding ways to utilize social enterprise to help sustain various organizations.

Barry produced an award-winning short film called ‘Coming Home’ with the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona, where he brought together a film crew of Indigenous youth to direct and produce the short film. Barry believes what he does is about passion, and not about the work. He sees value in giving back and helping others grow. He is always thinking and reflecting, guided by nature, and the passion to capture stories and moments while always embracing new experiences.
